Welcome to The Flowered Apron, a small bakery and eclectic boutique in downtown Bar Harbor, Maine. You can find our delicious treats at our boutique on Kennebec St, as well as several local businesses in Bar Harbor, including Peekytoe Provisions, A&B Naturals, and MDI Campground.
The Flowered Apron is owned by Karen Ressel, a long time Bar Harbor local, baker, knitter, handwork teacher, and most of all a mother to three children. She is the founder and previous owner of Sara Rose Knitwear, a prominent handmade children's knitwear company, which sold in Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and boutiques across the country. For the past two decades Karen has been teaching knitting and handwork to children, previously at the Acadia Waldorf School, and currently at The Community School. Finally, while Karen has been a baker her entire life, cultivating recipes and techniques from her mother, grandmother, and friends, she has baked professionally for the last 12 years.
The Flowered Apron draws together Karen's many talents and passions into a unique business, bringing her baked goods, high quality handmade items, and keen eye for design to the Bar Harbor community and beyond.
Stop by our delightful front porch boutique, which features Karen's handmade fiber crafts alongside freshly baked goods, beverages, and plenty of comfortable seating. We look forward to seeing you there! The Flowered Apron also welcomes orders for birthdays, holidays, dinner parties, and special occasions.
